Holman High School Grand Reunion Scholarship
Only ONE scholarship is available for a current high school graduating senior who is the descendant (relative) of a Holman Alumni.
Scholarship applications must be received by May 15, 2023.
All money will be sent to the institution of higher education or returned to the Holman Grand Reunion Committee if the recipient decides not to attend the institution. Applications can be submitted online or mailed to Mrs. Gail Whitted, 3 Lakewood Lane, Pine Bluff, AR 71603.
Selection Criteria
The scholarship committee will evaluate each application. The application will be evaluated using the following criteria:
- Scholastic Standing
- Grade Point Average
- ACT and/or SAT Score
- School Involvement
- 1 Letter of Recommendation
- Community Involvement
- 2 Letters of Recommendation
- Essay Questions Submission
Instructions
- Complete the scholarship application in its entirety. Application must be submitted online or printed on the official form.
- An original copy of your high school transcript must accompany this application.
- Applications will not be accepted if received in any other manner.
The Essay
Write an essay about why you deserve to receive a scholarship from the Holman Grand Reunion Committee.
- Indicate your objectives for how you will pursue higher education. You may include information about your educational, career, and personal goals.
- Demonstrate your talent by writing about any special interests or special circumstances that you would like the selection committee to consider.
- Only one (1) essay should be submitted.
- Essay Format
- Type essay on 8 1/2 x 11 (white copy paper for printed application).
- Maximum Length - Two Pages.
- Type your Name and Essay as the TITLE (Example: John Doe-Essay). Include in the Header of the Document.
- Double-space the body of your Essay.
- Use 1” margins all around.
- No extra documents such as pictures, resume, etc. are allowed.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: You must submit all applicable transcripts with your application.
